The focus of The Movement for 2021 is to provide a safe space for women to share and connect, thus empowering each other to then go out into the wider community and affect social change and inspire other women to do the same.

The topic of the session… Apothecary Heaven
Mythical, divinely feminine and the quintessential Earth mother, Floralia Wellness and Apothecary shares its magical name with the annual Roman festival in honour of the goddess of the flowering plants, Flora.
On Sunday, The Modern Day Woman Movement were blessed with the opportunity to explore the wisdom of plant medicine, with the support and education of Floralia's carefully curated team of passionated practitioners, delving deep into a holistic approach to health.
After each individual session, our guests were gifted their own personalised botanical tonic, and a bottle of Glowso skin health and glow by JOSO.

The topic of the session… Expressive Freedom
What does it mean for time to stand still? When emotion is raw and expression unfiltered.
Expressive Freedom, our topic for our most recent Enriching Experience with West Australian Ballet and the beautiful members of The Modern Day Woman Movement.
This immersive behind the scenes experience, took us through moments of Genesis and highlights from Ballet at the Quarry’s incredible performances.
Aurelien Scannella and Sandy Delasalle-Scannella shared their story of love, commitment, drive and triumph. From a crippling car accident to forging a world-class Ballet Company beyond traditions into a future where classic and contemporary are equally celebrated. A true master of the arts.
What an honour this was. Thank you to the West Australian Ballet for opening your hearts to us... we are truly grateful!

The topic of the session… Your Future Self
When we worry too much about what others might think, we start editing and hiding parts of ourselves. We hold back from sharing, which often leads to us missing out on new connections, new experiences and new opportunities to grow.
Being bold isn’t about being better than anyone else. Being bold is fully accepting yourself for who you are and not being afraid to express yourself exactly how you want, whether that be through your words, how you dress or how you celebrate yourself.
Who is your Future Self? What does she look like? How does she carry herself? How would her best friends describe her? What does she feel?
When we really break it down, our Future Self is the most authentic version of ourselves, the one that isn’t afraid to boldly own who they are. We already are exactly who we want to be, but we may not be living authentically and being completely visible to ourself. As members of an amazing supportive movement, when we see other women living boldly and embracing themselves, we feel proud and inspired to do the same.

The Modern Day Woman Movement X Bobbi’s Pole Studio
The topic of the session… “Building Self Confidence”.
Why is it some people can step into the unknown without a care in the world, and some are paralysed by even the smallest challenge?
It is deceptively simple, it is not our lack of competence, ability, intelligence or desire that prevents us from stepping up to the next level, but rather that we trust ourselves no matter what the outcome is.
The brave members of our movement took part in our ‘Building Confidence’ Enriching Experience led by Dr. Katherine Iscoe, exploring our day to day challenges with confidence and that incessant ‘inner-voice’ that tells us to give up, to find an excuse, and to feel unworthy.
This was followed by an incredibly fun, challenging and sometimes personally confronting introductory pole dancing class. We laughed, we supported each other and we learnt what we are truly capable of with a little bit of guidance and a lot of love from our fellow members.

The topic of the session… “Mental Health”.
In this Mastermind we had the pleasure of listening to two very special guests. Mark McCrory from Telethon 7 shared the incredible work and changes they’ve made this year to both raise funds for children’s charities, but also create positivity, entertainment and gratitude to unite WA. Kendall Whyte from The Blue Tree Project shared her own personal journey that led her to create a movement that starts those difficult conversations and encourages people to speak up about their struggles.
Both speakers’ heartwarming authenticity and openness when sharing the unique stories and huge impacts of their not-for-profit organisations empowered us to embrace our own vulnerabilities and lead by example to create support and safety for those around us.

The Modern Day Woman X Hidden Haus
The topic of the session… “Empowerment”.
When everyday life doesn’t go quite as planned, it’s easy to feel stressed and overwhelmed. These are the times we struggle to be the most empowered versions of ourselves. Understanding that empowerment runs deeper than this is key. True empowerment comes from deep within. Connecting back to your guiding principles, your coping mechanisms and mindfulness lessons is of the upmost importance.
On this warm Saturday afternoon, the women of our movement came together for our ‘Spring Soiree’ Mastermind Event where we explored the topic of ‘Empowerment’ and what this means to each of us. We had the pleasure of listening to the beautiful Charmaine Bingwa, Perth born Hollywood Actress and Director.
Charmaine spoke of ‘Empowerment’ as feeling your intuition ‘viscerally’, and following this gut feeling to live true to your values. From leaving the safety of her comfortable yet unfulfilling corporate role, to uprooting her life to move to LA and pursue her passion for acting, Charmaine shared all the hurdles of her personal journey that have led her to living an empowered life.

The topic of the session… ‘The Conscious Home’
In partnership with Loam Australia and a Cocoon Luxury Australia, we explored the concept of conscious living from mindfulness to creating space, decluttering to reenergising.
In Zen philosophy we believe a healthy mind begins at home and how you keep your home is a reflection of how you live your life.
The evening was led by a room filled with warmth, energy, and support. Thank you to David Hillam our guest speaker and Architecture Icon & Development Entrepreneur for sharing his vulnerabilities, and humanising success. The theme of our conversation, take accountability, learn from life challenges and never stop growing. Growth in empathy, growth in self awareness and growth in empowering others.

The topic of the session… Exploring ‘Burn Out’
It’s official! The Modern Day Women has had our first event post isolation… and it was impactful.
For many, this time has been a period of realisation, and our most treasured values have resurfaced. We discussed both the personal and professional challenges we are facing at this time, and one of our biggest takeaways was recognising and being proactive with ‘BURNOUT’. Mental load was a huge part of this exploration, and understanding what ‘letting go’ and ‘handing over’ really looks like.
As females, we expect a lot from ourselves, and we feel the social pressures to be ‘Super Women’. Together we brainstormed what we can do to express feelings of burn out. While we may not be able to change society’s views on female roles and responsibilities, we can certainly change the attitudes of those in our inner circles. These sorts of discussions remind us that we are not alone, and with compassion and support, we can change an outlook and slowly change the world.

The topic of the session... Quiet Mind
We live in fast paced, immediate action world where distractions have become a way of life. As productive women with full and fulfilled lives, there has become a greater need to embrace QUIET than ever before.
We chose to explore this concept for our January MasterMind with the Members of The Modern Day Woman Movement.
Quiet time gives us the space to think, act, and play "catch up" with our mind. Whilst not as obvious at first, silence and can be very healthy for our physical and mental wellbeing.
Scientifically, studies have shown, silence has been proven to: Improve Memory, Stimulate Brain Growth, Relieves Stress, Fights Insomnia and Heightens overall sensitivity.
Spiritually, we know that silence can open ones heart to create deeper connections, strengthen relationships but more importantly harness Self Love.
Thanks to our major event partner MYALL WELLBEING, in the heart of the CBD, a stunning sanctuary offering Yoga, Meditation and Massage.
For our session we experienced Yoga, Meditation, Sound Healing and Soul Gazing as part of this 2 hour journey with our members.

The topic of the session… Live How YOU Want to be Remembered
A truly powerful statement and one which evokes great emotion and reflection.
Maya Angelou famously said; “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”
For the topic of Novembers Mastermind session we wanted our members to do exactly that, go inwards. Feel deeply into their perception of how they are showing up each day in EVERY area of their life and ask the question…. Is this it? Is this the best version of myself and if not, why and what can I do to manifest a different outcome.
To open our emotional, mental and physical bodies ready for the session, we invited World Class Healer and Breathwork specialist Marcel Hof from The Netherlands to share his Hof Method Breathing Technique which is centred around oxygenating the blood by surpassing the immune response of increased heart rate and adrenaline. This method has been attributed to his brother Wim Hof climbing Mount Everest in nothing but shorts and completing marathons bare-foot on ice with no water.
Following this, Julian Pace, Founder of Happiness Co joined us to work through emotional responses and how this can impact the stories we tell ourselves which ultimately shape all the areas of our life. Julian’s questions allowed women to share how they respond when they feel frustrated, insecure and overwhelmed, while then showing us we have the power to manifest the life we choose and the life we want to be remembered by.
Finally, we were joined by highly acclaimed Cath Sutherland, Founder of Conscious Business to share a very personal journey around life, love and energy. Everything is Energy is Cath’s mantra and Cath’s raw look into her own personal challenges with starting a family showcased a beautiful example of where life is often out of our control but it is still possible to harness loving and positive energy and manifest a life we want to be remembered by.
Thank you to all that came, that participated and to our members who couldn’t be there on the night but were with us in spirit, we are grateful to have you in the Movement.
We wish you love, warmth and positivity as we enter into 2020 with a renewed vision and energy to together build the life that we want to be remembered by.

WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS. Our purpose when we started, our purpose ever since. Topic of this month’s Mastermind: Mental Health, a pressing topic in today’s world. We came together as a group of high functioning women to share vulnerabilities and our own personal challenges with maintaining a healthy mind. A common thread from the day, was mental health affects us all, even in a small way no one is immune. What’s the remedy? Practice gratitude, show kindness, look for sunshine amongst the clouds but most of all feel LOVE ❤️ as cliche as it sounds love is the remedy for all things, love for yourself, love for those around you and love for the world itself. The topic of the session... Self-Doubt
The topic of our recent Mastermind Event with members of The Modern Day Woman Movement. We delved deep into our topic as the women watched presentations in the Palace Platinum private theatres from inspiring women such as Belinda Teh, who recently walked for 70 days from Melbourne to Perth to change a law, ending her 30 million step journey on the steps of parliament house earlier this month. Registered Psychologist Domenica Vehcchio took our members through a guided meditation and self-awareness exercises to explore our own areas of self-doubt with practical take homes to overcome and embrace self-doubt. A delicious breakfast was provided by Cocolat and guests were treated to a bag of goodies to take home by our friends at Bare and Wilde. Thank you to all those who came and participated in the morning of mental, social and soulful development.

How do we really achieve it?
For our latest MasterMind Event topic we partnered with Perth Centre for Photography, Bethanie WA, Perth Style Co, Aperol Spritz and Ginger Pear Graze to deliver another soul nourishing event on a topic we all need to master - Longevity. We looked for subject matter experts and who better to ask but these wonderful ladies “Our Life Experts” Alberta 94 years of age and Alexis 87 years of age
What were their secrets?
Alexis 87, opened with “I’m a busy lady” She’s about to become a great grandmother and attributes her longevity to being surrounded by love, gratitude for her beautiful family and all the beauty around her in nature. Alberta 94, ‘aka Bertie’ attributes her longevity to her sense of purpose through her lifetime support of Salvation Army her gratitude of the life her parents gave her and the years of riding around on her bicycle as ‘keeping fit’ was always important to her. These women are inspirations and true Modern Day Woman, they’re passionate, resilient, honest and grateful

The topic of the session... Vulnerability
When you allow yourself to be vulnerable, you show your authentic self and only then can you truly connect with others. Connection is what gives us purpose, a sense of belonging and brings meaning to life. This session had the 'Meet Our Modern Day Women' movement share their moments of vulnerability and through this form new bonds and relationships. An uplifting and encouraging evening! A huge thank you to Linneys Jewellery and Graze Catering Perth for hosting the event.

The inaugural Mastermind Session for members of the Modern Day Women Movement hosted by Crown Towers. Self awareness and self care are paramount to the success of any Entrepreneur or Business Woman.
The topic of the session… Entrepreneurship
What does entrepreneurship mean to you? What is the ‘Modern Day’ definition of an Entrepreneur? These were some of the questions raise by movements members in the brainstorming session. The feeling from our members was true Entrepreneurship is all encompassing and stretches beyond financial reward or status in a business sense. There can be Entrepreneurial spirit in something as simple as creating a beautiful meal, or influencing social change through commitment, drive and attitude. Thank you ladies for being examples that anything is possible when you lead from the heart and follow your passions.
